The journey into parenthood was never meant to be walked alone. I'm Vanessa O'Keefe, and after thirty-five years in the early-years sector, I can tell you that with absolute certainty.
With over two decades in early childhood education and a Diploma in Children's Services, I thought I was fully prepared for motherhood. I had spent my career caring for little ones and supporting families. Yet when my own son arrived, I was met with a reality no textbook could describe. The hormonal shifts, the emotional rollercoaster, the unexpected isolation, all made me realise that even the most experienced hands need a village.
That personal journey redirected my heart. I extended my studies to become a certified Sleep Consultant, then quickly discovered that "training" a baby wasn't the answer. I returned to my roots in early-years education with a new understanding: sleep is a biological function, shaped by everything from airway health to digestive comfort. To truly support families from the very start, I added Hypnobirthing and Postpartum Doula services to my toolkit.
I believe that when we begin in calmness, and fill the support gap of those first twelve months, we empower mothers to trust their instincts and their babies. I am here to be that village for you: providing the evidence-based knowledge and compassionate care you need to get back on track whenever life feels sideways.
The first year of life is a sacred window that requires a village of support, yet modern parenting often leaves us navigating it in isolation. My approach is built on three unwavering pillars.
We shouldn't wait for a crisis to seek peace. Beginning with Hypnobirthing prepares mind and body to meet parenthood from a place of regulation, not fear. When we start in calmness, we are already ahead.
I don't "train" babies to sleep. Sleep is a natural biological function that arrives when a child's system is in balance. My work focuses on root causes (digestive comfort, airway health, circadian rhythms) rather than quick fixes that ignore a baby's physical needs.
The biggest gap in the parenting journey is the lack of support for mothers in the first twelve months. A mother who feels seen, heard, and supported is better equipped to understand her baby's cues. My postpartum work is designed to bridge that gap.
The foundational qualification underpinning thirty-five years of work in the early-years sector.
Trained in responsive, biology-led infant sleep support, never cry-it-out, never one-size-fits-all.
Accredited to deliver the full Hypnobirthing Australia™ Positive Birth Program for expectant parents and partners.

Because the first year is sacred, and shouldn't be lived in fight-or-flight. Because no parent should have to choose between their baby's needs and their own sanity. Because there's a calmer path, and I've spent my whole career walking it with families.
